BRUSSELS, 11 May 2016 - Madagascar President Hery Rajaonarimampianina announced recently that he will give his high patronage to the 22nd WSBI Africa Regional Group Meeting. Under the theme "Exploring the Pathways to Financial Inclusion", the event will take place from 30 May to 1 June in Antananarivo, in Madagascar. ESBG is accepting registrations on its website.
In addition to Malagasy presidential support, Finance and Budget Minister François Marie Maurice Gervais Rakotoarimanana, Treasury Director General Pierre Jean Feno, WSBI African Group President Herivelo Andriamaga, and Caisse d'Epargne de Madagascar Director General Dominique Rajerison will also participate in the 30 June opening ceremony.
Participants in the two-day group meeting will discuss topics such as the policy initiatives and regulatory challenges in financial inclusion strategies, the role of savings groups in building assets and financial capability, the digital revolution, business models focused on youth, and Islamic finance aimed at boosting financial inclusion.
The event also will enable WSBI African member banks to take stock of their activities. It will include the presentation of business cases gathered in working groups focused on financial education and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as a round table debate on strategic issues in the relation with cooperating institutions. On 1 June, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a management training called How being creative in your business model and service delivery can create new opportunities for growth.
