Risk Management

Banks and proximity banks, in essence, have to manage and mitigate all their risks and to rely on efficient branch management. Considering that WSBI targets proximity financial institutions, rural banking is one of the training targets. Therefore, we assist financial institutions with the provision of

Risk management programme
coupled with a
simulation game

5 modules of 2 days by type of risk

At a glance The training analyses how banks/MFIs manage credit risk, asset and liability risk including liquidity risk, market risk, insurance and investment risk, operational risk, legal and regulatory risk, external risk, and strategy risk. The training provides all the necessary tools to mitigate these risks and analyses the infrastructure that is necessary to manage them as well as to organise their follow-up. The simulation sets up a competition between participants on the above topics, which requires using strategic thinking and planning, and applying knowledge on liquidity, market, counterpart, operational and other risks.

Our target Bank and MFI senior and potential managers with risk related responsibilities.

Branch management including a simulation game
6 modules of about 2 days each

At a glance The programme covers all the activities of a branch manager: marketing to low-income segments (2 days), financial management (2 days), (micro) credit analysis (2 days), branch and sales force organisation (2 days), customer services (2 days), team management (2 days).
The simulation programme creates a realistic banking environment for participants. Participants are grouped into “management teams”, each team managing a hypothetical branch of a separated bank. A computer-based simulation programme is used to reproduce a realistic environment within a varying and challenging economic situation. Special attention is given to competition for new business. The simulation programme aims at enhancing functional knowledge, management sills, teamwork orientation, and global competitiveness awareness. This interactive simulation covers the following elements: customers, marketing, distribution channels, processes and operations, human resources and financial management: 4 days
